Compiling a Meeting Agenda
Meeting Agendas are a necessary guide to direct the chairperson and meeting participants. Using a meeting agenda generally reduces the time spent at meetings, especially if it's a timed agenda.
Items for the agenda should be solicited from the chairperson and attendees well before the meeting and despatched with the minutes of previous meeting and other papers. Ideally a date for receipt of agenda items should have been set at the previous meeting.
The agenda should list the topics for discussion in a logical order; with important items nearer the top. Meeting papers should show the corresponding agenda item.
Put some time into planning the agenda, then compile a draft agenda and submit it to the Chairperson for approval. Then despatch the approved agenda along with meeting papers to the participants.
